Here is a study citing alc and ALA can help restore erectile health and increase libido. Kind in mind though the study was done on patients who were diabetic. However alc and ala are known supplement to help repair damaged neurons in the brain and I've heard others citing how it can increase your sex drive.

Also there is another article citing it can be used as a cure for erectile function at high doses. I'm currently taking it myself, so hopefully combining it with a reboot will give it the extra edge.

Lastly it is good anyway as it acts a chelation to rid the body of heavy metals.

I've been taking ALC + ALA on and off for years.

Studies I saw where it improves erectile dysfunction solely benefited those with cardiovascular issues and not arousal/ anxiety issues (ie. us)

It may help alleviate depression and increase mental focus, that's why I take it. Don't get your hopes up that it will cure ED.

I'm not getting my hopes up I'm putting the info out there so given the chance it can help people on here.

Btw did you even take it at high doses and were you rebooting while taking? To dismiss the idea that it's not going to work simply because it didn't work for you is foolish.

No, I'm dismissing the idea because all of the research indicates it works for physical causes of ED and not emotional causes.

    Direct quote:

Wait a minute, I didn't even dismiss it - I just said don't get your hopes up.

I've taken it myself AND done research, yet I'm the foolish one? Fuck off.

So you've tested everyone on this forum to rule out that none of their problems are physiological?

Also you never answered my fucking question, so goes to show you don't know for certain if it's going to work alongside a reboot or even at high doses so you can politely fuck off and keep your opinion, rather than facts to yourself.

The majority of us, say 85% have physiological ED. That's why we're here, for porn-induced erectile dysfunction. In which case ALC/ALA therapy is a waste of time and money according to research. If you want to write-off the research that's fine, but don't blame me for providing it.

The reason I didn't answer your question is because you were condescending and called me foolish. No soup for you.

Metal, you're being a douche. He basically said he didnt think it would work becuase he has tried it and it didnt work along with the fact that studies show it will more than likely only help physiological ED issues. He's helping people by telling them it probably wont help cure their ED. The last thing people need to do is waste more $$$ on more supplements to "cure their ED".
Im sure many people on this forum have already spent quite a bit of money on supplements to "cure" their ED such as viagra, cialis, l-arigine, citrulline malate, citocholine, some of which will work for them and some of which wont. But when it comes down to it, the reason people are on this forum is becuase their ED is porn induced, not physiological, something that supplements will only help in the short term if at all.

I think if your problem is porn, this stuff is probably not going to help much. In fact, I'd say you're better off without it.

With that being said, if you think your problem may be porn in tandem with other things like low testosterone or diabetes (like this study mentions) I think it can help.

I have taken both in the past and from what I remember L-Carnitine made me more aggressive (I snapped back at my best friend and lost her for good). L-arginine works better for me (and there are studies that demonstrate their efficiency).

Then again as Ryan pointed out, it's not dealing with the cause but then again it may help with recovery. So as much as I don't like sitting on the fence here, there's credit to both arguments.

What does not make sense however is why there's so much aggression in the air....afterall this is a supportive forum.

For what it's worth I think L-Arginine would definitely help ED.

ALA + ALCAR not so much.

But if anybody wants to try it, more power to them.

How many mg do you guys take?

I found this one on amazon with some good reviews. Anyone taken it before? or recommend another brand?

Chobani if you're taking it for ED, high dosage works best 2-3 grams at least per day. If like me you're on a maintenance dosage for good circulation then 500mg-1g will do.

Yea... ALA is awesome for sexual issues. Use a creme called Man1 Man Oil. It contains it and other vitamins and nutrients that are great for blood flow and overall sexual health. It is real good stuff. Good luck.

I used to use Acetyl-L-Carnitine and L-Arginine (Nature's Bounty I believe, can be found at Walmart or any pharmacy if you live in the US). It was dope. I felt super energetic and out of my constant brain fog. It could be due to the pills I was taking but it could just as well be because I was on a great streak.

Be careful though, these pills are tough for the stomach if you don't eat plenty before taking them.

In terms of creams/oils, I recommend pure shea butter. This is simply the best. Cocoa butter is good too I've heard, but melts at a higher temperature so less convenient to apply. I also used and still use vitamin E oil which is fine. Man 1 man oil is a rip off in my opinion. Shea butter or E oil will work just as much if not better for much cheaper.

PS: Below are a couple of threads that you may find useful.
